Walking and drawing are both gestural acts - unfolding events through which place is encountered, explored and mapped.  Continuous lines in a concertina sketchbook follow the movement of the eyes (sightlines becoming drawn lines) and represent the embodied experience of place; walks can be measured by numbers of drawn pages.
